Our client is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to support and enhance their AWS infrastructure. The role focuses on maintaining secure, efficient, and reliable systems while driving automation and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to optimizing cloud operations and ensuring business continuity.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, optimize, and maintain AWS services, including EC2, VPC, S3, and Lambda.

  • Perform system administration and patching for Linux and Windows environments.

  • Implement and maintain security solutions using tools such as Qualys, AWS Security, and CrowdStrike Falcon.

  • Develop automation processes to streamline deployment and configuration of instances and applications.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve infrastructure-related issues.

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.

  • Support incident response and participate in continuous improvement of infrastructure reliability and performance.

💡 Must-Have Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience managing AWS environments and cloud infrastructure.

  • Proficiency in optimizing AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, Lambda).

  • Strong Linux system administration experience, including patching and maintenance.

  • Hands-on experience with server patching and maintenance for both Linux and Windows systems.

  • Experience implementing security tools (Qualys, AWS Security Hub, CrowdStrike Falcon).

  • Proven ability to automate processes (e.g., automated installation of applications or instance provisioning with security agents).

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as Jira.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or equivalent).

🌟 Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience maintaining internal documentation and technical processes.

  • Availability for scheduled weekend support (recurring on Sundays except for the first Sunday of the month).

  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory standards (PCI, SOC 2, SOX).

  • Familiarity with Ansible or other configuration management tools.

  • Understanding of SAS IVYA systems maintenance and support.

  • Scripting experience in Python or similar languages for automation tasks.

🌐 Location & Time Zone

This role is 100% remote from LATAM, with collaboration aligned to U.S. Central Time. An overlap with client teams in the U.S. is required.
